10 a.m. to 2 p.m. |
Dear Valued Customer,
This is a reminder that tomorrow, Tuesday, March 17, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the water service to your home will be temporarily turned off.
This shutoff will allow Tualatin Valley Water District (TVWD), your drinking water provider, to complete planned water system maintenance to the water main under the SW Murphy Street cul-de-sac west of SW 192nd Avenue.
During the shut off, water will not be available from your home faucets, showers, toilets, or appliances that use water, like dishwashers and washing machines.
Learn more below about what to expect and how to prepare.
Water Shut Off Overview
- Date: Tuesday, March 17, 2026
- Time/Duration: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. (4 hours)
- Work Area: SW Murphy Street cul-de-sac west of SW 192nd Avenue
- Addresses Affected: Shown in yellow on the map below
What to Expect
- Temporary water service shut off
- No water available from faucets, showers, toilets, or water-using appliances
- Access to homes maintained, with possible brief driveway delays
- Noise, dust, and vibrations
- Traffic guided around the work area
- Large equipment in the area
- Restricted parking near the work zone
- Impacts to bike and foot travel
- A drone taking photos and videos of the progress
- Mail, deliveries, and garbage service will continue as usual
How to Prepare for the Shut Off
- Before: Fill clean containers with three to five gallons of tap water for drinking, cooking, and flushing toilets. Consider storing more for larger households.
- During: Keep all faucets and water-using appliances turned off.
- After: Turn on a faucet to check if water service has been restored. If no water flows, turn off the faucet, wait 15 minutes, and try again. Once service returns, run cold water for about two minutes to flush your plumbing.
Next Steps
- The work area in the street will be restored with temporary asphalt until final paving can be completed, weather permitting
- Final paving will only cover the area where excavation occurred, not the entire street
