Reminder: Review property assessments before March 23 |
March 16, 2026
The City of Edmonton reminds property owners to review their property assessments and call the City with any questions this week. The general deadline for filing formal complaints about property assessment is 11:59 p.m. on March 23, 2026.
The assessed value of a property represents its market value as of July 1, 2025 and is used to determine the owner's fair share of provincial education and municipal property taxes. Property assessments were sent on January 12, 2026.
If property owners have concerns about their assessment, they are encouraged to review their notice to check what makes up their property’s assessed value and then compare it with similar properties in their neighbourhood at edmonton.ca/assessment. Additional comparison tools are available at myproperty.edmonton.ca, which can be accessed using the code on the most recent assessment notice.
After reviewing, individuals can call 311 to speak to an assessor and ask any questions. There are no fees for this service.
If property owners still disagree with their property assessment, they can file a formal complaint, including a fee, to the Assessment Review Board.
The 2026 complaint period, where property owners can dispute their assessment value, runs from when notices are sent on January 12 until the March 23 deadline. Tax amounts mailed to property owners in May cannot be disputed. |
