Achievement District Test Coordinator
Updates and Reminders - March 24, 2026
Resources

For AASA, AzSCI, and ACT Aspire, the Achievement Assessments - When to Contact Pearson or ADE resource is posted on the Achievement District Test Coordinator webpage. Refer to this document before, during, and after the testing windows.

Students who are using Chromebooks in kiosk mode must have certain URLs added to the blocklist configuration settings. Refer to the Pearson Technical Bulletin, Third-party login issue with kiosk mode, for details if your school is using Chromebooks for testing.

If students using Chromebools are experiencing issues with their Ready button being "grayed out" when trying to test, and the students are using the TestNav application, the TestNav application may need to be updated due to a change made by TestNav earlier this year. See the NEW Chromebook Support for SY 2025-26 on the TestNav Technical Bulletin site for information and instructions on updating your Chromebook devices.

The TestNav Error Code Site is a helpful resource to determine the cause of TestNav errors and most include steps to resolve the issue. Most errors can be resolved by refreshing the student's TestNav application, but if the error persists, contact ADE at AASA@azed.gov for AASA, AzSCI@azed.gov for AzSCI, or Testing@azed.gov for ACT or ACT Aspire.

A new Achievement Assessments Reporting infographic is available on our Infographics webpage. This infographic includes all of the reporting dates for AASA, AzSCI, ACT Aspire, and ACT.

Prepare Test Sessions for AASA

District Test Coordinators (DTCs) can now prepare test sessions. It is recommended that test sessions are prepared before testing day, as the process can take several minutes to complete.
Student Transfers from Paper-Based Testing School to Computer-Based Testing School

When a student transfers from a paper-based testing school to a computer-based testing school, the student's test assignment must change from a paper test to an online test, which requires a new test assignment in PearsonAccess Next (PAN). This requires removing the previous paper test assignment and adding a new online test assignment. Do not simply change the selection from "Paper" to "Online" in the "Format" dropdown on the "Manage Student Tests" screen as this will not provide the student with Text-to-Speech in their online test. A Quick Guide provides the detailed steps for completing this process. Failing to follow these steps will result in Text-to-Speech, a universal testing tool, not being available in the student's online test.

The following should be confirmed for all students who have their test assignments updated from paper to online.
  • On the "Students in Sessions" screen, does the student have the Text-to-Speech icon next to their name? If so, then the student will have access to Text-to-Speech in their online test.
  • On the "Manage Student Tests" tab in PAN, confirm the student's embedded and non-embedded accommodations. When updating the student's test assignment, the accommodations must also be updated.
  • New testing tickets must be printed after the student's test assignment is updated.
ACT Reminders

Test Window 1

For issues during ACT testing, contact ACT at 319-337-1567. This is an Arizona-specific number, and any technical issues or concerns that occur during testing will be prioritized.
  • Paper (Standard) - March 24, 2026
  • Paper (Accommodations) - March 24-27, March 30-April 3, 2026
  • Online (Standard and Accommodations) - March 24-27, March 30-April 3, 2026
Schools administering paper tests may use the remaining online test days in Test Window 1 for makeup testing, or paper testing materials for Test Window 2 may be ordered for makeup testing. The additional order window for Test Window 2 is March 24-27. Paper test books from Test Window 1 may not be used in Test Window 2 as this would result in a misadministration and student scores being cancelled.

Any students with approved accommodations for testing over multiple days who begin testing in Test Window 1 must complete testing within Test Window 1 (by April 3).

Test Window 2
Online test sessions for Test Window 2 can be created in PearsonAccess Next beginning April 1.

ACT State Use Questions
Arizona will not have state questions on the ACT this year. The state questions are mentioned on page 76 of the ACT Online Testing Administration Manual. When students see the "State Questions" screen ahead of the online ACT test, they can skip to the next step.

My ACT
Refer to the ACT website for information about students completing MyACT. Resources are included under Step 4: Preparation, under the heading "Complete Non-Test Activities." Students may complete the non-test information in MyACT before testing and up to two days after completing testing. This may be completed on a separate day from actual testing. Students who set up a MyACT account will have the opportunity to send their ACT scores to up to four colleges or scholarship agencies for free and will receive their test results faster than waiting for paper score reports to be delivered to schools. ACT encourages schools to set aside time for students to complete MyACT non-test information at school during a classroom session.

The "Student Code Usage Status" report in PearsonAccess Next will display which students have used their student code to access the non-test information in MyACT. To access the report, go to Reports > Published Reports. Data in this report is refreshed daily.
