City Operations releases Annual Service Plans
March 26, 2026

The City Operations department maintains and operates City infrastructure and is responsible for a wide range of core services that keep Edmontonians moving, working and thriving. The department has released 2025-2026 Annual Service Plans (ASPs) for Edmonton Transit Service, Fleet and Facility Services, Parks and Roads Services and Waste Services.

Each branch’s ASP reports on key results, service objectives and performance measures, with a focus on effective service delivery and a positive resident experience. The plans highlight  the vital work teams will deliver in 2026 as the City evolves its essential services and operations to support a future population of two million. To help residents understand what to expect from the services they rely on, the plans offer insight into how service levels align with Council-approved budget allocations.

Through the ASPs, residents can learn more about many exciting initiatives, including:
  • The expansion of cellular service to LRT tunnels and underground stations to improve public safety.
  • An integrated ETS bus and LRT control centre to improve response times across the transit network.
  • Climate action and energy transition initiatives, including Alberta’s first mobile hydrogen fuelling station.
  • A new drone program to build wildfire resilience and protect City parks.
  • The installation of Road Weather Information Systems on select City vehicles to monitor road conditions.
  • The continued roll-out of food scraps and recycling collection to apartments and condos, as part of the next Waste Reduction Roadmap.
The 2025-2026 Annual Service Plans are available at edmonton.ca/CityOperations.
