Dear PARE Community,
Spring always brings a sense of renewed energy – and for me, it’s also the excitement of looking ahead to the EULAR Congress. It’s such an important moment in our calendar, where the whole rheumatology community comes together, including our vibrant EULAR PARE network, with a full and enriching programme that ensures lived experience is embedded and visible throughout the entire Congress. In this edition, you'll find a call for new volunteers – I warmly encourage you to get involved. We were proud to take part in this year's WORD Day webinar, and don't miss our inspiring Stene Prize winner and a great example from the Engagement Programme.
Before you dive in, we’d love your input – take 5 minutes to complete our quick newsletter survey. Enjoy the read, and I hope to see many of you in London this June! ~ By Simon Stones, EULAR PARE Committee Chair. |

| | Meet Our Edgar Stene Prize Winner at the EULAR 2026 Congress in London We are delighted to announce our winner, Yusra Momade from Portugal, for her essay “Is it all in genes, or not? How rheumatic and musculoskeletal diseases (RMDs) shape and reshape family connections”. EULAR PARE received 16 inspiring essays this year. Yusra beautifully illustrated and thoughtfully shared her experience of living with scleroderma, showing how illness can transform — and even strengthen — the bonds within her family.
Don't miss Yusra's moving essay here, or listen to her presentation during the PARE Abstract Session: Evidence meets Experience in London.

Have You Heard About the EULAR PARE Engagement Programme? Andri Phoka, President of the Cyprus League of People with Rheumatism (CYLPER), is excited to explain how your organisation can benefit from having a EULAR representative or speaker participate in your national event. “The two engagement visits gave a valuable esteem to our organisation”, says Andri.
