ETS spring service changes start April 26 |
April 15, 2026
Edmonton Transit Service spring service changes take effect Sunday, April 26. Various bus routes, including school special routes, will see service adjustments to reflect typical spring ridership patterns.
Bus bay reassignments
ETS will reassign bus bays at Belvedere, Meadows and Mill Woods transit centres to help reduce congestion and improve operational efficiency.
Starting April 26, updated transit centre maps will be available at edmonton.ca/TransitCentres.
Bus service adjustments
- Route 500X (Meadows) will see a routing change downtown. Instead of turning right on 103 Avenue, it will turn left, travel eastbound and then head south on 100 Street.
- Route 513 (Mill Woods) will travel clockwise around Mill Woods Town Centre instead of counterclockwise. It will continue east on 28 Avenue and turn right into Mill Woods Transit Centre from Hewes Way, rather than turning right on 66 Street.
- Route 516 (Mill Woods) will also travel clockwise around Mill Woods Town Centre instead of counterclockwise. It will continue west on 23 Avenue, turn right on 66 Street and enter Mill Woods Transit Centre, rather than turning right onto Hewes Way.
On Demand Transit
Starting April 26, additional On Demand Transit stops will be added to the following neighbourhoods:
- Riverdale (to facilitate transfers to and from Routes 1A and 1B)
#1173 - 89 Street and Rowland Road eastbound
#1356 - 90 Street and Rowland Road westbound
- Ottewell (to facilitate transfers to and from Route 4, including connections from Avonmore, Kenilworth and King Edward Park)
#22073 - 68 Street and 90 Avenue eastbound
#2376 - Ottewell Road and 90 Avenue westbound
Neighbourhood Renewal - 132 Avenue, Dunluce, Glenwood and Overlanders
The 132 Avenue Renewal Project continues in 2026. This year, most construction will take place in two areas: from 121 Street to west of 127 Street (west segment) and from 90 Street and Delwood Road (east segment).
Construction on the west segment is scheduled to begin the week of April 20, weather permitting, and will continue until fall 2026. Routes 51, 103 (select trips), 106, 618 and 625 will follow detours during construction.
Construction on the east segment of 132 Avenue is also scheduled to begin the week of April 20, weather permitting, and will continue until fall 2026. Routes 106, 610, 612, 613, 614, 624, 625 and 626 will follow detours during construction.
As part of the Dunluce Neighbourhood and Alley Renewal Project, crews will be in the area rehabilitating residential roads and replacing street lights, sidewalks and more. Stops along the main corridors on 121 Street and 157 Avenue will be closed for construction from mid-April to fall 2026. During this time, Route 124 will follow a detour along 162 Avenue.
Multiple projects are underway in and around the Glenwood and West Meadowlark Park neighbourhoods, including the 95 Avenue Renewal Project and Glenwood Neighbourhood Renewal Project. During construction, the following service adjustments will be in effect:
- Routes 7 and 915 will remain on 95 Avenue, while Route 924 will be detoured onto 163 Street.
- Routes 671 and 676 will detour onto 170 Street, turning right on 100 Avenue and again onto 163 Street.
- Route 678 will detour onto 100 Avenue NW and turn right on 163 Street.
- School specials will pick up and drop off at 163 Street and 96A Avenue, and schedules have been revised to account for extra walking distance.
- Transit service is reduced on holidays and in alignment with public, Catholic and post-secondary school calendars.
- On May 15, Catholic school specials will be cancelled due to a professional development day.
- On May 18 (Victoria Day), buses will operate on a regular Sunday schedule.
- From May 27 to 29, public school specials will be cancelled for the May school break.
Riders are encouraged to plan their trips in advance using the trip planner on edmonton.ca/Transit or Google Maps by selecting a date after April 26. |
