Dear Friends,
Happy Easter! I hope this message finds you safe and doing well after the storms these past few nights. Living in the Sussex area, I’m especially grateful today. Driving around and seeing massive trees toppled over while new spring growth pushes up through the ground has me reflecting on this season of resurrection and new life—how Christ meets us where we are and continues to bring life even in the midst of it all.
Providentially, this Sunday’s Gospel, the Road to Emmaus, offers a powerful reminder for our ministry. Jesus meets the disciples right where they are—walking with them in their disappointment and questions. Though they do not recognize Him at first, it is along the road that He opens the Scriptures, restores their hope, and sets their hearts on fire.
So often, our ministry can feel like that same road: marked by uncertainty, ordinary conversations, and progress that can be hard to see. Yet Christ is present in each step, accompanying both us and those we serve, gradually revealing Himself and transforming hearts. Take some time this week to reflect:
- Where might Jesus already be walking with me in my ministry, even if I haven’t fully recognized Him yet?
- When have I experienced my “heart burning within me” this season, and how is God inviting me to respond?
Thank you for your faithful witness and accompaniment of young people. Your presence matters deeply, and Christ is at work—often in ways we only come to recognize in hindsight. Be assured of our prayers for you this Easter season—that your own heart may be renewed and strengthened for the mission ahead.
God Bless,
Andrew (with Micah and Anna). |
