This year, Tocono Medical Outreach proudly celebrates its 2-year anniversary alongside the 30th anniversary of the Hendersonville Rotary Club’s medical outreaches in Guatemala. Since 2014, Radical Missions has worked hand-in-hand with the Club, helping coordinate and support these impactful missions that continue to bring healing and hope to thousands in need. |
What an incredible week it was! Over four full days, we brought free medical, dental, psychological, and optometry clinics to the people of San Lucas Sacatepéquez, Guatemala — many of whom have limited access to healthcare. |
The dedicated team, consisting of 4 physicians, an anesthesiologist, 2 psychologists, 3 dentists, and an ophthalmic team from Vol State, came together to treat a record-breaking 1,102 patients — the highest number in the mission’s history — while delivering the US equivalent of more than $375,000 in medical services. |
Perhaps most powerfully, our two psychologists intervened in four potential suicide cases. With compassion and expertise, they provided immediate care and instilled renewed hope in individuals who felt they had none left — quite literally saving lives.
Experiences like these are the heartbeat of our mission. They affirm that every hour of preparation, every logistical challenge, and the tireless dedication of our team members were not just worthwhile — they were truly life-changing. |
