PROJECT NOTIFICATION
Water Main Replacement
Begins Soon in Your Neighborhood

May 4 to July 16, 2026
Weekdays, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Dear Valued Customer,

From May 4 to July 16, 2026, Tualatin Valley Water District (TVWD), your drinking water provider, will complete a project to install new water mains, underground supports, and fire hydrants in your neighborhood. This work will improve water reliability, water pressure, and fire protection.

During the week of April 27, 2026, crews will begin preparing for this construction. This includes utility marking, surveying, and potholing.

Construction will take place in the public right-of-way (the area next to and under the street where utilities are located). Please see the map below for the project area.

Project Work
Main Replacement
TVWD will replace about 1,900 feet of aging 8-inch ductile-iron water main with new 4-inch or 8-inch ductile-iron water main under:
  • SW 184th Ave. (SW Monte Verdi Blvd. to SW 184th Pl.)
  • SW Lapaz Ct.
  • SW Burns Ridge Ct.
Underground Supports (Straddleblocks)
Crews will install concrete supports that help keep sections of the water main from shifting under pressure at:
  • Corner of SW Monte Verdi Blvd.
  • SW 184th Ave. and SW Barcelona Wy.
Fire Hydrants
Crews will install new hydrants or replace existing ones at:
  • Corner of 18460 and 18350 SW Almonte Ct.
  • Near 6936 SW 184th Ave.
  • SW 185th Ave. and SW Monte Verdi Blvd.
  • 7008 SW 184th Ave.
  • 7106 SW 184th Pl.
(When a new water main is installed, hydrants must be connected to the new main to operate properly and maintain water pressure.)

What to Expect During Construction
Work will occur on weekdays between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. No work is planned on weekends or holidays.

A short video (available in English and Spanish) provides an overview of what to expect.

How You Can Prepare
  • Sign Up for Project Updates: Sign up to receive email updates about this project at TVWD.org/184th.
  • Watch for Utility Markings: White dashed markings will show where the new water main will be installed. Please move any vehicles, trailers, or other items from these areas before construction begins. Other utilities will be marked with different colors.
  • Stay Informed: Watch for TVWD notifications – including doorhangers, emails, texts, or robocalls – about the project.
  • Plan Ahead for Sensitive Needs: If someone in your household relies on water for medical needs or has mobility concerns, consider a backup plan in case of a short outage.
Benefits and Cost
The existing water mains in your neighborhood were installed in the mid- to late 1970s. Based on their age, condition, materials, and leak history, they were selected for replacement.

This $1.45 million project, funded by water rates, will improve reliability, increase water flow and pressure, and enhance fire protection.
