Annual Ben Calf Robe Pow Wow celebrates culture and community
May 7, 2026

On May 9, the Ben Calf Robe Traditional Pow Wow takes place at the Commonwealth Community Recreation Centre Indoor Field House.

This is a free and family-friendly event, with Grand Entry at 1 p.m. and activities taking place throughout the afternoon and evening.

The annual Pow Wow is an important community gathering that honours Indigenous cultures, traditions and ways of knowing through drumming, dancing and ceremony. This year’s theme, Prayers for Peace (nitotamâtan pêyâhtakeyimowin), reflects a shared commitment to community, connection and respect.

Hosted by
Edmonton Catholic Schools and Indigenous Learning Services, in partnership with the Ben Calf Robe Society, the event creates space for people to come together, gather in the powwow circle and share in a good way.

Edmontonians are encouraged to attend, learn and take part in this meaningful community gathering.
