Make sure students receive their digital credentials this summer

Dear colleague,
Earlier this year, we let you know that students receiving vocational qualifications at your centre can also receive a digital credential.
A digital credential is a verified, shareable online record of achievement, containing trusted information about what was achieved, how it was earned and the skills demonstrated. It is issued as a PDF digital certificate and Notification of Performance (NoP) with a QR code for instant online verification. |

To make sure students receive their digital credential, it’s essential you share your student email addresses with us, and the function in Edexcel Online is now open for you to do this.

When do I need to add student email addresses in Edexcel Online?
To make sure students receive their digital credential, their student email addresses need to be added before results day.
For students who are eligible to certificate before August results day, they will still receive their digital credential in August, as long as you provide their email address before they are certificated. |
How to add student email addresses
To keep things simple, we recommend using each student’s centre email address. Once their digital credential has been issued, they’ll be able to update it to a personal email address in Credly if they choose.

How we use student email addresses
Student email addresses are stored securely and are used only to issue digital credentials.
As part of our service, students will receive:
- a notification on results day letting them know their digital credential is ready, and
- reminder emails prompting them to claim their credential if they haven’t already done so.
