SW Murray Boulevard Frontage Road

Dear Valued Customer, 

From Tuesday, May 19 through Thursday, May 21, 2026, a contractor for Tualatin Valley Water District (TVWD), your drinking water provider, is scheduled to complete permanent paving on SW Murray Boulevard Frontage Road, from SW Butner Road south to the end of frontage road. Work will occur each day between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. 

Paving will be limited to areas where the recent water main was installed. The roadway will not be paved from curb to curb. 

Important Note: During the paving dates and timeframe, please do not park along SW Murray Boulevard Frontage Road where the water main installation occurred. Cars left in the paving area may be towed at the owner’s expense.

Paving Overview  
  • Dates: Tuesday, May 19 through Thursday, May 21
  • Timeframe: 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.  
  • Paving Area: Portions of SW Murray Boulevard Frontage Road where water main installation occurred 
Paving Process 
Paving will include the following steps:  
  • Grinding: A machine will remove the old road surface in areas where the new main was installed.    
  • Paving: Hot asphalt will be applied, spread, and smoothed to create a strong, even surface. 
  • Sanding: A mix of tar and sand will be added to seal the pavement and help the new surface cure properly.     
What to Expect During Paving 
Water Service: Your water service will not be affected during paving.   

Traffic:
  • Local traffic will still be allowed during paving. 
  • Traffic will be reduced to one lane, with flaggers on site directing vehicles.     
  • Please plan extra travel time and follow flaggers’ directions.   
Driveway Access:
  • If your driveway connects to SW Murray Boulevard Frontage Road near where the main installation or connection took place, there may be brief access delays. 
  • To avoid delays, please move your vehicles out of the paving area before 8 a.m. if you need to use them during the day. 
No On Street Parking:
  • Please do not park along SW Murray Boulevard Frontage Road where the water main installation or connection occurred.  
  • Cars left in the paving area may be towed at the owner’s expense. 
Noise, Vibration, and Dust:  
  • You may notice noise, vibrations, and dust while paving.  
  • If you are sensitive to sound, consider earplugs or white noise.  
  • Keeping windows closed can help reduce dust and noise inside your home. 
After Paving is Complete 
  • Please avoid parking on the new asphalt for a few days so it can harden properly. 
  • Some leftover sand may remain on the road temporarily. 
  • If you see issues like bumps or poor drainage, please contact TVWD.  
More about the Project 
Paving will complete TVWD's SW Murray Boulevard Frontage Road Water Main Replacement Project. As part of this project, TVWD: 
  • Installed about 845 feet of new water main under SW Murray Boulevard Frontage Road, from SW Butner Road south to the end of frontage road.
  • Installed a new fire hydrant near 735 SW Murray Blvd.   
  • Relocated an existing fire hydrant near 835 SW Murray Blvd. 
  • Installed a water vault in the eastern northbound lane of SW Murray Blvd.
