June is Block Party Month! Residents are encouraged to strengthen community ties by hosting local gatherings. While many neighbours connect daily, the City makes it easier to transform casual greetings into organized community events with comprehensive planning resources.
Whether it’s in a cul-de-sac, on a street or within a local greenspace, block parties serve as a vital catalyst for building meaningful relationships right where Edmontonians live. To support these efforts, Neighbourhood Services offers organizers expert planning tips, templates and essential logistical support, including necessary permits and traffic control equipment for road closures.
If you need traffic control or a road closure, complete the Block Party/Play Street Application Form three weeks before the event.
