Dear Friends,

June has been a busy and exciting month for our new Office of Youth & Young Adult Ministries.

Over the past two weeks, our Brew City Catholic Missionaries have been immersed in training as they prepare to serve on college campuses throughout the Archdiocese this coming year. Their dedication to prayer, formation, and missionary discipleship has been inspiring as they ready themselves to accompany young people in their faith journeys.

This past weekend, we also hosted our Equip Retreat for student leaders from our college campuses. The retreat was a powerful reminder that the future of the Church is bright. Students from across southeastern Wisconsin gathered to grow in leadership, deepen their relationship with Christ, and encourage one another in the mission of evangelization. It was encouraging to see these young leaders embrace their call to bring the Gospel back to their campuses and communities.

This week, our Love Begins Here Core Team moved in and began preparing for another summer of service. In just a few days, they will welcome missionaries from across the Archdiocese who will spend a week of their summer serving parishes, assisting those in need, and living out Christ's call to love their neighbor by doing small things with great love. Their energy, enthusiasm, and willingness to serve are already setting the tone for what promises to be a fruitful summer.

As these ministries move into full swing, I ask for your prayers for our Brew City Catholic Missionaries, Equip student leaders, Love Begins Here Core Team, and all of our Love Begins Here missionaries. May the Lord bless their efforts, deepen their faith, and use them as instruments of His love in the communities they serve.

I will be out of the office through July 6th, spending much of my time supporting these summer ministry efforts. Response times to emails and phone calls may be slower than usual, and I appreciate your patience and understanding.

God Bless,
Andrew Schueller

Back to the Well: Rediscovering Our Call to Serve

August 20-22, 2026
Mary Mother of the Church Pastoral Center
The Catechetical Conference is an opportunity to step away from the demands of ministry, be renewed in Christ, and connect with fellow catechetical leaders from across the Archdiocese.
Thursday and Friday are designed especially for Parish Catechetical Leaders.
  • Thursday includes a choice of three formation tracks: a Welcome Day for New Leaders, Working Genius, or Forming Disciples with the 10:10 Challenge. Participants will also enjoy time for prayer, networking, and practical ministry formation.
  • Friday includes Mass with Archbishop Grob, a keynote by Kately Javier, workshops, mini-sessions, and exhibitors. Topics include catechesis in the digital age, active learning for sacrament preparation, prayer for busy leaders, family catechesis, and healthy conflict resolution.

Saturday is designed for catechists, volunteer core team members, and parish volunteers serving adults, youth, and children. The day includes keynote speakers, workshop tracks in English and Spanish, and Mass with Bishop Schuerman.

Catechetical Sunday - Sunday September 20th, 2026
Catechetical Sunday is an opportunity to recognize and thank catechists for their ministry of sharing the faith and forming disciples. This year's theme, “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me… to bring good news to the poor” (Lk 4:18), reminds us of Christ’s mission and our call to proclaim the Gospel through word and witness.  As you begin planning for the fall, consider how your parish will recognize and commission catechists. The USCCB offers certificates, prayer cards, posters, and other resources to support your celebration.
