PROJECT UPDATE
Taylors Ferry Reservoirs and Site Seismic Improvement Project: June 2026 |
Dear Valued Customers and Community Members,
When the project is complete in fall 2026, the two new reservoirs, pump station, and pipelines at the Taylors Ferry site will work together with the Florence Lane and Garden Home reservoirs. These facilities will store and deliver drinking water to customers in the Metzger area. Water will come from the Willamette Water Supply System, which will draw from the Willamette River near Wilsonville.
June 2026 Progress Updates
In June, the contractor:
- Pump Station and Operations Building: Began construction on the new water pump station and operations building, located near the north end of the Taylors Ferry property. Crews excavated to prepare for footing installation, installed electrical conduits, and below-grade plumbing, and poured the concrete foundation and stem wall for the operations building. Both buildings will be one story and constructed of concrete masonry units (CMU). The pump station will house water pumps while the operations building will include space for equipment storage.
- SW Orchid Street Paving: Paved a section of SW Orchid Street near SW Caiden Terrace that was disturbed during installation of a new pressure-reducing valve, underground vault, and connecting water pipes. This new infrastructure will connect to the new pump station and improve the long-term reliability of the water system while helping maintain consistent water pressure for customers.
- Stormwater Detention: Paused the excavation on site for a new stormwater detention area to allow for proper documentation and evaluation of the existing soil conditions, located between the new pump station and operations building. This area will collect, manage, and safely drain stormwater.

Next Steps
Over the next couple of months, construction will continue to advance on the two new facilities in this area, including concrete pours for the footings, stem walls, and floor as well as the CMU wall construction, and roof installation. What to Expect
No water service interruptions are expected for nearby customers during July 2026 due to the project. Neighbors near the property may notice:
- Sight: Large equipment, trucks, and debris removal
- Sound: Construction noise, including machinery and backup alarms
- Smell: Dust and diesel odors
- Feel: Occasional ground vibrations during demolition and backfilling
- Parking: Construction crews will park on nearby public streets and follow city regulations
- Deliveries and Services: Mail, package delivery, and garbage service will continue, though minor delays are possible
- Drone Use: A drone may be used to capture images and video of construction progress
