Valley Line West LRT: Shifting north-south vehicle access across 102 Avenue
July 9, 2026

Starting on or around July 15, north-south vehicle access across 102 Avenue in downtown will shift as part of Phase 2 of Valley Line West LRT construction.

North-south vehicle access across 102 Avenue on 105 Street will close, and access on
104 Street will open. Vehicle access on 104 Street will be unavailable on Saturdays to accommodate the Downtown Farmers’ Market. North-south access remains open on 109 Street and 101 Street.

Pedestrian access in the area is maintained, with detours in place. An updated pedestrian wayfinding map can be found on
Marigold Infrastructure Partners’ website, and more information on the closure is available in MIP’s construction notice.

Phase 2 of the 102 Avenue work is expected to continue until the end of 2026. Further access changes are anticipated later in Phase 2 and will be shared through MIP’s construction notices once confirmed.

Phase 1 of the work began in mid-March, leading to the temporary full closure of 102 Avenue from 107 Street to 102 Street, which will remain in effect until the end of 2026.

Valley Line West LRT construction is anticipated to be completed in 2028, followed by an extensive testing and commissioning period before the line opens to passengers.
