Dear Valued Customer,
From July 16 to August 7, 2026, Tualatin Valley Water District (TVWD) will replace approximately 500 feet of aging water main on SW Alton Street between 18295 SW Alton Street and SW 185th Avenue.
The existing 2-inch PVC water main will be replaced with a new 8-inch ductile iron water main to improve long-term water reliability, increase water flow and pressure, and enhance fire protection for the surrounding area.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Traffic and Access
- Homes and businesses will remain accessible throughout construction.
- Temporary road closures and detours will be in place and may cause delays.
- Business access will be maintained via SW 182nd Avenue.
- No parking will be allowed on either side of SW Alton Street during construction. Vehicles may be towed.
- Short driveway delays may occur while crews work near entrances.
- Mail delivery, garbage collection, business deliveries, and emergency services will continue.
Water Service
Some nearby homes and businesses will experience planned temporary water service interruptions while the new water main is connected.
If your property is affected, TVWD will provide at least 48 hours' advance notice before any scheduled water shutoff.
Construction Activity
- During construction, you can expect:
- Daytime and limited nighttime work
- Construction equipment and crews in the area
- Noise, dust, and vibration

Daytime Road Closure

Road Closure
- SW Alton Street will be closed at SW 185th Avenue to all traffic.
- Business and local access will be maintained via SW 182nd Avenue.
