Working with communities to improve cancer care

Northern Cancer Alliance has shared its 2025/26 Annual Report. This year, lung cancer screening helped find 1,000 cases of lung cancer, many at an early stage. The team worked with local communities to help more people learn about cancer and get checked. More than 30 projects also helped people live well with and beyond cancer. The report shows what can be achieved when NHS staff, patients, partners and communities work together to improve cancer care.

Young people: Research about taking part in groups

A PhD student at Teesside University would like to hear from young people aged 13-23. She wants to learn how being part of groups can affect how young people feel. This survey is about the groups young people are part of, like friendship groups, sports teams, or youth clubs. The survey also asks what helps young people to join groups and make connections with others, and what can make this more difficult.

Young people under 16 will need consent from a parent or guardian before taking part. For more information email Amy: a.holdsworth@tees.ac.uk
