Dear Valued Customer,

From August 3 through mid-September 2026, Tualatin Valley Water District (TVWD), your drinking water provider, will install new water main and remove a pressure reducing valve and vault to improve the reliability of the water system serving your neighborhood.

Project Work
Water Main Installation
TVWD will install about 1,700 feet of new 8-inch ductile iron water main beneath SW Suncrest Lane, from SW Inglis Drive to SW 190th Avenue.

Installing new water main will improve long-term system reliability, increase water flow for everyday use and firefighting, and reduce the likelihood of future water main breaks.

Pressure Reducing Valve (PRV) and Underground Vault Removal
TVWD will remove the pressure reducing valve (PRV) and vault located northeast of the intersection of SW Inglis Drive and SW Whispering Fir Drive.

Improvements to the water distribution system now provide appropriate water pressure without the PRV. Removing it from service simplifies system operations and reduces future maintenance.

What to Expect During Construction
Construction will occur on weekdays between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. No work is planned on weekends or holidays.

A short project video, available in English and Spanish, provides an overview of what to expect during construction.
General Construction Impacts
  • Noise, dust, and vibration
  • Construction vehicles and equipment
  • Occasional drone flights to document construction progress
Traffic, Parking, and Access
  • Temporary lane closures with flaggers
  • Short delays when entering or leaving driveways
  • Temporary parking restrictions near active work areas
  • Mail, garbage collection, and deliveries will continue
Water Service Interruptions
  • Some customers will experience planned temporary water outages. If your service will be interrupted, TVWD will provide at least 48 hours' advance notice.
