Learn more below about what to expect and how to prepare.
PAVING OVERVIEW
- Dates: August 11 - 14, 2026
- Time: 7 a.m. - 6 p.m.
- Work Areas: Sections of roadway where the new water main was installed.
PAVING PROCESS
Paving will include:
- Grinding: Crews will remove the existing pavement where the new water main was installed.
- Paving: Hot asphalt will be placed, spread, and compacted to create a smooth, durable driving surface.
- Sanding: A sand and asphalt seal coat will be applied to help protect the new pavement while it cures.
WHAT TO EXPECT DURING PAVING
- Your water service will not be interrupted.
- Local access to homes will remain open.
- Expect rolling single-lane closures as paving progresses through the work area.
- Expect construction noise, vibration, and dust.
- Do not park along the roadway or shoulder within the paving area.
- Vehicles left in the work zone may be towed at the owner's expense.
- Drive slowly and follow all traffic control signs and directions from flaggers.
- Paving is weather dependent, and the schedule may change.
- If you are sensitive to noise, consider using earplugs or a white noise machine. Keeping windows closed can also help reduce dust and noise inside your home.
AFTER PAVING
- The streets will reopen by 6 p.m., unless posted signs indicate otherwise.
- Please avoid parking on the new asphalt for several days to allow it to harden.
- Some loose sand may remain on the roadway for a short time.
- If you notice issues such as uneven pavement or poor drainage, please contact TVWD.
