PROJECT UPDATE
Taylors Ferry Reservoirs and Site Seismic Improvement Project: July 2026

Dear Valued Customers and Community Members,

We’re sharing the July 2026 update for the Taylors Ferry Reservoirs and Site Seismic Improvement Project, along with a preview of work planned in August.

When the project is complete in fall 2026, the two new reservoirs, pump station, and pipelines at the Taylors Ferry site will work together with the Florence Lane and Garden Home reservoirs to store and deliver drinking water to customers in the Metzger area. The water will come from the Willamette Water Supply System, which will draw from the Willamette River near Wilsonville.

July 2026 Progress Updates
In July, the contractor:
  • Water Reservoirs: Installed exterior access ladders on both new reservoirs. The ladders are equipped with locked access and fall-arrest systems to protect workers and help prevent unauthorized access.
  • Slope Landscape Restoration: Began restoring the slope at the north end of the Taylors Ferry property after pipeline installation. Work included regrading the hillside, installing erosion-control measures, and beginning landscaping with native grasses, shrubs, and trees.
  • Pump Station and Operations Building: Continued construction of the new water pump station and operations building near the north end of the Taylors Ferry property. The pump station will house two 1,500-gallon-per-minute water pumps, while the operations building will provide space for equipment storage. Work included:
    • Pouring reinforced concrete foundations and walls.
    • Constructing reinforced concrete footings and stem walls that provide structural support for the buildings and pump equipment.

Next Steps
Over the next several months, construction will continue on the new pump station and operations building, including structural work and installation of mechanical and electrical equipment.

What to Expect
No project-related water service interruptions are planned for nearby customers during August.

Neighbors near the construction site may notice:
  • Sight: Large equipment, construction vehicles, and ongoing debris removal.
  • Sound: Construction noise, including heavy equipment and backup alarms.
  • Smell: Dust and diesel exhaust.
  • Feel: Occasional ground vibrations during excavation and backfilling activities.
  • Parking: Construction crews may park on nearby public streets in accordance with city regulations.
  • Deliveries and Services: Mail delivery, package delivery, and garbage collection will continue, although minor delays are possible.
  • Drone Use: A drone capturing photos and video documenting construction progress.
