Commonwealth Stadium welcomed more than 50,000 fans for sold-out AC/DC show |

Edmonton was ‘Thunderstruck’ on Sunday, August 9, as 50,047 fans gathered at Commonwealth Stadium for a sold-out performance by rock n’ roll legends AC/DC.
Hundreds of staff worked behind the scenes to deliver a safe and seamless event, including more than 510 security guards, 115 ushers and customer service staff and 125 City of Edmonton event staff. Edmonton Police Service (EPS), Edmonton Transit Service (ETS), emergency medical and first aid personnel and more than 150 merchandise sellers were also on site. Stadium Foods led a team of more than 800 concession and food service providers, while Transit Peace Officers and EPS officers provided additional public safety support.

These mega stadium tours and world-class artists choosing Edmonton as a stop on their tours have an incredible impact on our city. Concerts like these bring tremendous energy and excitement to Edmonton, while delivering meaningful benefits to our local economy and strengthening our cultural vibrancy. They attract visitors from near and far, support local businesses, create jobs and bring people together to share unforgettable experiences. Concertgoers were encouraged to arrive early and take public transit to the event, including ETS Park & Ride and LRT. Concert tickets served as transit fare, allowing attendees to show their ticket as proof of payment when boarding any ETS bus or LRT.
