Do you or someone you know need help taking out waste or setting out carts for collection? Since 2010, Edmonton’s Assisted Waste Program has helped thousands of Edmontonians with limited mobility move their recycling, garbage and food scraps to the curb for collection.
Edmontonians with temporary or long-term mobility challenges can apply for the following services, regardless of the type of home they live in:
Curbside collection
- Residents sort their waste into carts and bags. The collector moves them to the curb or alley for collection and returns the carts to their storage location afterward.
- Residents provide their sorted waste to the collector at their home. The collector places the waste in the appropriate carts, sets out the carts and bags for collection and returns the carts to their storage location afterward.
Apartment and condo collection
- Collectors pick up sorted waste from the resident’s door and take it to the property’s collection container for disposal.
Assisted Waste helps support independent living for Edmontonians with mobility challenges. Learn more about the program and how to sign up at edmonton.ca/AssistedWaste.
