Media are invited to join the Confederacy of Treaty No. 6 First Nations and the City of Edmonton to mark 150 years of Treaty No. 6. To commemorate Treaty No. 6 Recognition Day, we will host a ceremony, cultural programming and a public celebration at City Hall and Churchill Square.
Speakers will include:
- Joey Pete, Chief of Sunchild First Nation and Grand Chief of Confederacy of Treaty No.6 First Nations
- Mayor Andrew Knack
- Eleanor Olszewski, Minister of Emergency Management and Community Resilience and Minister responsible for Prairies Economic Development Canada
- Her Honour, the Honourable Salma Lakhani, Lieutenant Governor of Alberta
