This inspiring workshop draws on Professor Maurice Duffy's lived experience. He is a full-time carer. You will hear real stories and learn practical techniques to:

- help you cope
- build resilience
- survive the life you never planned for.

If you've employed a PA or would like to, or if you support someone who has, the Adult Care Services Involvement Forum would like to hear from you. They are hosting an online event to learn more about people's experiences. The event is on Monday 24 August at 6pm.

It will be an informal conversation with the team. There will also be someone from the Direct Payments Team to answer any questions you may have.

Around 1 in 10 people have chronic kidney disease but many don’t know they have it. This is because it often has no symptoms in the early stages. Health Innovation North East and North Cumbria (HINENC) is looking for volunteers to help raise awareness of this disease. You would:

- Help people get checked and learn about kidney health at local events
- Get free training from Kidney Research UK

Receive a £100 gift voucher after training and taking part in an event

The North East Mayoral Strategic Authority wants to hear your views on a proposed bus franchising scheme. Your feedback will help inform the final decision on how bus services are run in the North East. You can have your say about:

1. How buses run now
2. About the new idea
3. What this could mean for residents

The survey is open until 9am 28 September.

National Parks are required to involve local people and organisations when developing plans for the future. The North York Moors National Park is currently preparing a new local plan, and you can read about the first steps in developing the plan.

As part of this work, the National Park is seeking views on its current thinking in four key areas:

- Nature recovery and climate change
- Tourism and recreation
- Where new development may go
- Whether we need to find new sites for housing

A national research group wants people with lived experience to help improve pregnancy and birth care.

The group works to make sure everyone gets fair care before, during and after having a baby. Members will

- help guide research,
- support new researchers, and
- share ideas from their communities.

People who join will be paid for their time.
