‘Don’t Cry’ - Commonwealth Stadium is ready to host Guns N’ Roses

‘Welcome to the Jungle’ - Guns N’ Roses are coming to Edmonton! Commonwealth Stadium will host these hard rock legends on August 26.

The legendary band, known for its hard rock and heavy metal sound, brings its full concert production to Edmonton, with special guest The Black Crowes. Get ready to rock ‘n’ roll!
Here are some tips to make your concert experience ‘Paradise City’ when visiting the Stadium.

Know Before You Go at Commonwealth Stadium
All guests are encouraged to arrive early to allow time for security screening at Commonwealth Stadium. Gates open at 5 p.m., with the opening act starting at 6:25 p.m. All times are subject to change. Please check Ticketmaster and the “Know Before You Go” email sent to ticket holders for more information.

Weather policy
Commonwealth Stadium is an outdoor venue. The City encourages attendees to plan ahead and come prepared for all weather conditions. The event will go ahead rain or shine, though inclement weather may cause delays. Small, collapsible umbrellas without pointed tips are permitted inside the venue, but large umbrellas are prohibited.

Clear bag policy and bag search
Commonwealth Stadium strongly encourages fans not to bring bags. For public safety and security, there is a mandatory clear bag policy in place for all events.

Permitted bags:
  • Bags that are clear plastic, vinyl or PVC and do not exceed 12" x 12” x 6".
  • Small clutch bags that are not clear, but do not exceed 4.5" x 6.5".
All bags are subject to search.

Fans without bags will be screened more quickly. Exceptions to this policy will be made for medically necessary items after proper inspection and approval.

A limited bag check is available for a $20 fee on a first come, first served basis. This service is provided by The Mobile Locker Company and located on the west side of the Stadium, near the Gate 5 entrance in Lot A. The City and Stadium staff are not responsible for lost items.

Merchandise
Merchandise will be available for sale on the east side of the Stadium by Gate 10 and on the west side by Gate 6 at the following times:
  • August 26: noon until 30 minutes after the show.
Attendees are encouraged to purchase merchandise early to avoid lineups inside.

Parking
There is no parking at Commonwealth Stadium and parking restrictions will be in effect in surrounding neighbourhoods. When restrictions are in place, only residents with valid parking permits can park on streets in those areas. The Stadium Station parking lot will close on August 26 at 7 a.m. Concertgoers are encouraged to consider other forms of transportation, such as ETS, cycling, shared e-bikes and e-scooters, rideshare and taxis.

Public transit
Edmonton Transit Service (ETS) is making it easy for fans to travel to the concert.

Simply show your valid concert ticket as proof of payment when boarding any Park & Ride shuttle, ETS bus or LRT. Your concert ticket is valid as fare from two hours before the concert starts until two hours after it ends.

There is no need to tap on or off with Arc validators when using your concert ticket as fare. Please keep your ticket in case you are asked to show proof of payment during your trip.

Park & Ride is available at the following locations:
  • Eaux Claires Lot, 97 Street and 157 Avenue
  • Lewis Farms Transit Centre, 1021 Webber Greens Drive
  • NAIT Lots A/B and D, 109 Street and 118 Avenue. Parking costs $6 at these lots. 
  • Nakî Transit Centre, 15520 Campbell Road, St. Albert
  • ETS will also run a downtown shuttle from Churchill Station Bus Stop #1321, 100 Street and 102 Avenue northbound, to take people to and from the event.
Regular ETS bus service also serves these sites, making it easy for concert attendees to access Park & Ride service. Buses will start running at 5 p.m. and run approximately every five minutes. After the concert ends, Park & Ride buses leave from Commonwealth Stadium until the venue is clear.

Riders can also park at the following locations and take the Capital Line LRT to Stadium Station. Both lots offer free and paid parking options.
  • Clareview Transit Centre, 139 Avenue NW, near 43 Street
  • Belvedere Transit Centre, 62 Street and Fort Road NW

Bikes, e-scooters, e-bikes, rideshare and taxis
Supervised bike valet parking will be available on the northeast corner of Clarke Stadium. Rideshare services and taxis are also available at pickup and drop-off areas on the northwest side of the Stadium at 90 Street and 110 Avenue near Lot A, and on the east side at 84 Street and 106A Avenue. Signs will guide you to these locations.

Concert goers can also take a shared e-scooter or e-bike to the concert using one of the City-approved vendors, Bird Canada or Lime. Riders are reminded to park responsibly and be considerate of other road users. Parking locations can be found in the Bird or Lime app before ending your trip.

Wheelchair drop-off and pickup location
Accessible gates are #2, 6, 9 and 11. Wheelchair patron drop-off is located in Lot A on the west side of the Stadium.
