Dear Valued Customer,
On Tuesday, September 1, 2026, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., water service to your home will be temporarily turned off. During this time, no water will be available for use from your faucets, showers, toilets, or appliances that use water, like dishwashers and washing machines.
This temporary shutoff will allow Tualatin Valley Water District (TVWD), your drinking water provider, to connect a water main that will serve the new housing development - located north of NW Old Thompson Road and east of NW Lois Elaine Terrace - to the existing water system. This connection will allow the new development to receive drinking water from TVWD.
To make this connection, TVWD must temporarily close several valves to isolate a section of the water main. As a result, water service to your home will be temporarily interrupted during the work.

WATER SHUT OFF OVERVIEW
- Date: Sept. 1, 2026
- Time/Duration: 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. (7 hours)
- Work Area: Near NW Hogan Street and NW Lois Elaine Terrace
- Addresses Affected: Shown in yellow on the map below, and include:
- 13390 NW Old Thompson Rd.
- 13382 NW Old Thompson Rd.
- 13374 NW Old Thompson Rd.
- 13366 NW Old Thompson Rd.
WHAT TO EXPECT
- Temporary water service shut off
- No water available for use from faucets, showers, toilets, or water-using appliances
- Access to your home will be maintained
- Noise, dust, and vibrations during work
- Traffic control in and around the work area
- Large equipment (such as excavators) nearby
- Limited parking near the work area
- Possible impacts to bike and foot travel
- Mail, deliveries, and garbage service will continue as usual
HOW TO PREPARE
Before the Shutoff:
- Fill clean containers with 3 to 5 gallons of tap water for drinking, cooking, and flushing toilets.
During the Shutoff:
- Keep all faucets and water-using appliances turned off.
After the Shutoff:
- Turn on a faucet to check if water service has returned.
- If no water comes out, turn it off, wait 15 minutes, and try again.
- Once water returns, run cold water for about 2 minutes to clear your pipes.
