City shares public engagement results for the 2027-2030 budget |

The City released its report on public engagement for the 2027-2030 budget. It will be discussed at Council on September 8, 2026.
“Thank you to the thousands of Edmontonians who took the time to share what matters to them for the 2027 to 2030 budget,” said Stacey Padbury, Chief Financial Officer and Deputy City Manager of Financial Services. “The results reflect the diverse needs and priorities of Edmontonians, and are a key consideration for Administration and Council as we build and finalize our plans for City services, construction projects, taxes and user fees for the next four years.”
In spring 2026, the City invited Edmontonians to share their input on the next four-year budget, including priorities for services and construction projects, preferences about taxes, user fees and affordability and what trade-offs they’re willing to consider to balance the budget. This open invitation to all Edmontonians provided many ways to take part, including sharing feedback online or in person at sessions with Council in each ward. Engagement teams were also out in the community, connecting with businesses, community organizations, harder-to-reach populations and others. In total, 11,728 participants submitted over 460,000 words of feedback.
Edmontonians are encouraged to visit edmonton.ca/Budget to read the report and stay up to date on the 2027-2030 budget.
City Administration will share the proposed budget this fall, and Council will debate and decide on the budget in December. |
