Temporary 121 Street closure planned at Yellowhead Trail |

The City of Edmonton is advising motorists that 121 Street at Yellowhead Trail will be temporarily closed from September 1 to the end of November, weather permitting, as part of the Yellowhead Trail Freeway Conversion program between St. Albert Trail and 97 Street.
The closure will allow crews to complete work more efficiently and help keep the overall project on schedule following significant rainfall earlier this summer.
Two lanes of traffic will remain open in each direction on Yellowhead Trail. A new temporary westbound-to-southbound left turn will be available at 107 Street to help traffic travelling toward NAIT, EPCOR and businesses in the Kingsway area.
Motorists should expect increased traffic on nearby routes, including 97 Street, 107 Street, 127 Street and St. Albert Trail, and 118 Avenue, which will remain open. Access to VIA Rail will remain available from 121 Street via 118 Avenue.
Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead, allow extra time and follow posted signs through the area. The temporary closure is expected to reduce the overall duration of construction impacts. |
