On June 25, 2026, DRC will release an update of the DRC INSIGHT Test Engine.

DRC INSIGHT Secure Application - Version 17
The DRC INSIGHT Secure Application is the secure web-browsing interface that is installed on each testing device. For the 2026-2027 administration of LAS Links, ensure that the DRC INSIGHT Secure Application is updated to Version 17 on every student testing device.
Important Notes:
- Auto-updates for Version 17 of the Secure Application are available for Windows x64, Chromebooks, and iPad devices.
- New ARM infrastructure support
- ARM infrastructure for macOS will be available and will require a new installation of the Secure Application.
- A new ARM installer for Windows ARM64 devices will also be available and will require a new installation of the Secure Application.
- DRC would like to remind you to use the traditional Windows installer for non-ARM devices.
- The Linux installer will include support for Ubuntu 26.04.
- Microsoft has ended all support and security updates for Windows 10, thus, starting with Version 17, Windows 10 is no longer supported for DRC INSIGHT.
- Installers for the DRC INSIGHT Secure Application can be found in the DRC INSIGHT Portal. Select the Documents tile and then select Technology Downloads.
Central Office Services (COS) Service Device - Version 10:
Central Office Services (COS) is an application that allows you to configure and manage your online testing environment from a central location. The complete COS application includes several functional components including the COS Service Device (COS-SD) Software for Content Management and Content Hosting.
Additionally, the COS Service Device provides additional test security because it requires the testing devices and the COS-SD to be on the same network, preventing testing from occurring off-network.
In 2026-2027, the COS may not auto-update from Version 9 to 10 due to a new framework architecture maintenance tool in Version 10, which makes it incompatible with the v9 maintenance tool. If the COS does not auto-update, refer to the Technology User Guide in the DRC INSIGHT Portal for instructions on clearing the installer cache.
If you are updating the COS-SD on a MacOS 15 device, you will need to restart the device after the COS-SD updates.
Additionally, 32bit Windows for COS-Service Devices are no longer supported with Version 10.
