Investing in Young New Yorkers Throughout the summer, our Gun Violence Prevention Initiative provided young New Yorkers the unique opportunity to earn stipends while learning and developing skills – such as career readiness and community-building – to address the root causes of gun violence. At our recent Power of Prevention event hosted at Lincoln Center, they showcased their anti-gun violence projects including public safety PSAs, live podcasts, art displays, skits, a bill proposal, and more!

Driving Down Crime Manhattan has the fewest murders year-to-date in recorded history, down 55% from last year. There is always more work to do, and we will continue to work alongside our law enforcement partners at the NYPD to keep our borough safe!
Partnering for Economic Justice ICYMI: Our office is partnering with the Mayor’s Department of Consumer and Worker Protection to protect all New Yorkers from wage theft, tenant harassment, and fraud. This collaboration will more efficiently crack down on unlawful practices and hold those who harm New Yorkers accountable. “The top-line message is that if you are experiencing an issue, just report it to government and we will get it to the right place,” said D.A. Bragg.
Supporting Our Community We joined Grand Street Settlement and Assemblymember Grace Lee for their second annual back to school resource fair on the Lower East Side!
Members of our Pathways to Public Safety Division volunteered at the Fortune Society’s 8th annual Victor Rojas Block Party – a back-to-school celebration that provided Harlem families with school supplies, food, and community resources!
