Dear Valued Customer,
On Thursday, September 24, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., water service to your home will be temporarily turned off. During this time, no water will be available from faucets, showers, toilets, or appliances that use water, like dishwashers and washing machines.
This shutoff is needed so Tualatin Valley Water District (TVWD), your drinking water provider, can complete planned water system maintenance. The work will include:
- Disconnecting an unused section of water main under NW Murray Road from the water system.
- Adjusting the location of the water services that serve 1525 and 1555 SW Murray Rd. because they are too close to the curb.

What to Expect
During the shutoff:
- Water will not be available from faucets, showers, toilets, or water-using appliances
- Access to your home will be maintained, with possible short driveway delays
- You may notice noise, dust, and vibrations during work
- Expect traffic control in and around the work area
- Large equipment (such as excavators) may be staged nearby
- Limited parking can be expected near the work area
- Possible impacts to bike and foot travel
- Mail, deliveries, and garbage service are expected to continue as usual
How to Prepare
Before the Shutoff:
- Fill clean containers with 3 to 5 gallons of tap water for drinking, cooking, and flushing toilets.
- Store extra water if you have a larger household or business needs.
During the Shutoff:
- Keep all faucets and water-using appliances turned off.
After the Shutoff:
- Turn on a faucet to check if water service has returned.
- If no water comes out, turn it off, wait 15 minutes, and try again.
- Once water returns, run cold water for about 2 minutes to flush your plumbing.
