Dear Valued Customer,
On Wednesday, October 7, and Thursday, October 8, 2026, between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. each day, a contractor overseen by Tualatin Valley Water District (TVWD), your drinking water provider, will be conducting work in your neighborhood as part of the Florence Lane Pump Station Upgrades Project.
Crews will be potholing in the public right-of-way on SW Florence Lane, south of TVWD’s Florence Lane Reservoirs and Pump Station property at 6675 SW Florence Lane.
Potholing involves carefully digging small holes to visually confirm the exact location and depth of underground utilities, such as water, sewer, gas, and communication lines. This work helps crews avoid utility conflicts and supports safe construction.
What to Expect
- No action is needed from you.
- SW Florence Lane will remain open to travel.
- Crews will be working in the roadway and nearby public right-of-way.
- Crews will not enter private property, and there will be no permanent impact to your yard, driveway, or home.
- You may see equipment, utility vehicles, and a vactor truck near the work area.
- You may experience temporary, minor disruptions such as noise or dust.
- No water service shutoffs are planned during this potholing work.
Planned Valve and Vault Installation
The potholing work will help finalize the design for a new underground water valve and vault planned for installation beneath a section of SW Florence Lane. Installation is currently anticipated for this winter.
The new valve will serve as a control point in the water system, allowing TVWD to regulate water flow, isolate sections of pipe during maintenance or emergencies, and improve overall system reliability.
The valve and vault will not be installed during the October potholing work. The installation is currently in the design phase, and the field work taking place now will help determine the final design and placement.
Project Status
As part of the Florence Lane Pump Station Upgrades Project, TVWD is also upgrading equipment inside the Florence Lane Pump Station, including pumps, motors, transformers, and the generator, and installing a new emergency generator outside the building.
Most of the project work will take place inside the pump station. The planned valve and vault installation will occur in the public right-of-way on SW Florence Lane.
