Dear Valued Customer,

On Tuesday, October 13, 2026, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., the water service to your home will be temporarily turned off. During this time, no water will be available for use from your faucets, showers, toilets, or appliances that use water, like dishwashers and washing machines.

This shutoff will allow Tualatin Valley Water District (TVWD), your drinking water provider, to install a new fire hydrant in your neighborhood.

More about Fire Hydrants
TVWD maintains more than 5,500 fire hydrants throughout our service area. Fire hydrants give firefighters quick access to water during emergencies. They also help TVWD maintain and test the water system.

The new hydrant is being installed to meet safety standards that require fire hydrants to be no more than 400 feet apart. This helps firefighters quickly reach the water they need to protect people and property.

During an emergency, firefighters need clear and easy access to fire hydrants. Please:
  • Keep plants and other vegetation trimmed.
  • Make sure fences, landscaping, and other objects do not block the hydrant.
