Greetings, Valued Customer,
As an early step in planning this project, a contractor will conduct surveying on Wednesday, October 14, between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. The work will take place on TVWD’s Bethany Pump Station property at 14517 NW Laidlaw Rd. and nearby public rights-of-way.
No action is needed from you. Your water service will not be interrupted, and no construction will take place during this survey work.
Why is surveying needed?
Surveying helps engineers understand the site’s current conditions, including ground levels, property boundaries, and existing utilities. This information will help TVWD plan the pump station improvements and reduce impacts on nearby properties whenever possible.
Please see the map below for the survey area.
What should you expect?
- Survey crews wearing high-visibility safety vests and using surveying equipment.
- Survey vehicles and equipment, staged on TVWD property whenever possible.
- Small paint marks, flags, or stakes used as reference points. These mark survey locations and do not mean construction is starting.
- The work is expected to cause minimal noise and disruption.
- Crews will not enter private property.
- There will be no digging, excavation, or construction during this work.
What is the Bethany Pump Station Improvements Project?
The Bethany Pump Station helps move water through TVWD’s water system and maintain water pressure in the surrounding area. Planned improvements will replace aging equipment, improve the station’s reliability, support fire protection needs and make the facility more efficient for TVWD staff to operate and maintain. The project is planned in two phases:
Phase 1: Summer 2027
- Improve the paved entrance and driveway approach to provide better access for TVWD staff and maintenance crews.
- Upgrade the security system to improve site security and staff safety.
Phase 2: Fall/Winter 2028–2029
- Replace pumps and motors to improve reliability and reduce equipment failures.
- Upgrade electrical equipment to improve pump operation and meet current electrical standards.
- Replace failed electrical parts and make other electrical improvements to support safe, reliable operation.
- Replace failed heating and cooling system components to improve indoor conditions and protect equipment.
- Replace or upgrade indoor valves to improve system operation and make maintenance easier.
These improvements are intended to reduce unexpected equipment problems, make maintenance more manageable, and help extend the life of the pump station.
What happens next?
The information collected during surveying will help engineers complete the project design and support permit applications and construction planning. TVWD will share additional information as the project moves forward.
