The City of Edmonton is pleased to announce that rehabilitation work on the 184 Street Bridge over Yellowhead Trail is now complete. The bridge reopened to traffic at 2 p.m. today, October 15, approximately two weeks ahead of schedule.
The bridge was temporarily closed in early August so crews could accelerate rehabilitation work, including renewing the bridge deck, replacing the surface asphalt and installing an upgraded waterproofing system. Rehabilitation will help preserve the bridge, extend its service life and maintain a reliable crossing for motorists, goods movement, cyclists and pedestrians for the next 25 years.
With the bridge reopening, drivers can use 184 Street to cross Yellowhead Trail. The ramps on and off Yellowhead Trail remained open throughout construction.
The City thanks residents, commuters and local businesses for their patience as this work was completed.
