Most importantly, your VQAM team are back on the road and are looking forward to supporting more centres with individualised support, whether that be through visits to your centre or centre specific online activity. It’s been great to see so many of you in person again as well as online so please do contact us via the Live chat or the Portal to let us know how we can help you to support your vocational teams.

Coming soon!
From mid-January, our on-demand CPD offer will be widened to ensure centres have a comprehensive library of resources to access at any time. We are also in the process of planning the regional network events for May and June and hope to be able to bring you a list of dates and places in the New Year.
We recently contacted you with the programme control measures for all your programmes that will be subject to Standards Verification this year. If you think that any of your programmes are missing from that list, then please do contact us via the Pearson Support Portal and we can investigate for you.

We have noticed that a few control measures have been issued for legacy BTEC Tech Awards which apart not running this year, except for Engineering. If you have received a control measure for a legacy Tech Award that is not Engineering you may disregard this in respect of sampling as obviously you have no learners, however we would ask that you do check to make sure that there are no learners who should have been claimed or withdrawn from the programme.

The next step will be the allocation of Standards Verifiers which is due to take place in the New Year. As this gets underway you will start to receive the automatic updates in respect of allocated SVs and you will also see these start to appear on Edexcel Online.

To support you with standards verification, the Centre Guide is now live on the BTEC Quality Assurance webpage in the useful documents section and join us for the standards verification online support session that you will see in the events list.
If you have learners completing a Pearson-set Assignment in the current assessment series, please ensure learner marks are entered on EOL and the moderation sample uploaded to the LWT platform by 15 December. Remember, the learners who have achieved the highest and lowest marks must also be included.

For each learner selected for moderation, you are required to upload their evidence and Assessment Record sheet.

If you have any issues, please raise a case via the Pearson Support Portal at your earliest convenience.
We continue to develop and expand our portfolio of T level qualifications with Craft and Design and Media, Broadcasting and Production available from September 2024 and Marketing available from September 2025. You need to apply for approval to deliver these courses and the window in which to submit your application is from February – June 2024.

Each programme has a bespoke range of support available to ensure colleagues are confident and well equipped to begin delivery. We look forward to supporting you with your T Level offer.
New this year is the opportunity to schedule a 10-minute Teams call with the subject advisors. Please share this with your Lead IVs and Assessors and encourage them to use this service if they have any subject level questions or simply want to meet the subject advisor for their area.
Kind regards
