"Shooters! Your Preparation Period Begins Now!"
Words from the Founding Fathers
"They accomplished a revolution which has no parallel in the annals of human society. They reared the fabrics of governments which have no model on the face of the globe. They formed the design of a great Confederacy, which it is incumbent on their successors to improve and perpetuate.”

   James Madison,
The Federalist Papers, No. 14,
November 30, 1787
March's Event Highlight
In each issue of our newsletter, we highlight one of our events. In this issue, we want to showcase a recent Known Distance Clinic on February 10-11, 2024 in Fort. Bliss, Texas where they shot in some true Rifleman weather.

"The weather in far west Texas in February is almost always just perfect.

Except when it ISN'T.

The morning of February 10 dawned cold, cloudy, and wet, with sleet and rain and snow flurries.  All of which would have been manageable if not for the WIND (which none of us properly prepared for.)  It sent that cold right to our bones.

But did that slow these folks down?  oh HECK no!!"

March 's History Article:
"Mary Hays McCauley"
In honor of Women's History Month, not only are we offering all ladies a 20% discount to a traditional rifle event; but we also have a Special guest article from one of our female Senior Instructors, Mrs. Smith. She shares a captivating story about another woman, a true heroine of the Revolutionary War, Mary Hays McCauley.

Excerpt from the article:

On June 28, 1778, the 4th Pennsylvania was engaged at the Battle of Monmouth, New Jersey.  Legend has it that it was over 100° that day, and William Hays was assigned the task of loading a cannon after every shot.  The barrels of those cannons grew hotter with each shot fired. Combined with the heat of the day, Hays was overcome with heat exhaustion and pulled behind the artillery line to recover.  With no one else available to load the cannon in his place, that piece was essentially useless. Mary took up his duties at the cannon, loading and firing it herself.

March 's Marksmanship Tip
"The purpose of an LTR"
This month’s marksmanship article is another great one from our archive. Below is a quote from the article.

The point of this post is to focus you on practice with your LTR.  Practice using the techniques you learn at Appleseeds.  After all, a four minute of angle group will get you a great rifleman score on the AQT (25 meter or full distance).  How much higher does the score get when you shoot a 2 MOA group?
