Hi Wendy,

In the path of growth, embodiment is essential.  Today there are many systems of yoga and breathing practices like box breathing have become popular with everyone from high school students to the Navy Seals.

Amongst all of these practices, there are just a handful of systems that can be traced back to great teachers of the past.  One of those systems is Tibetan Yantra Yoga.  This ancient practice trains us to breathe and move in harmony with the natural rhythm of the human heartbeat.

Free Three Hour Workshop this Sunday:

This Sunday March 10th, global teacher Carolina Mingolla will offer Principles, a free three hour introductory workshop for those interested in the Tibetan Yantra Yoga and the associated styles of breathing.

Carolina will be teaching with a long time close friend of mine, Mikyö Clark. Mikyo was born into the Tibetan lineage in the West and re-introduced me to this precious lineage of my soul a decade ago.

We will be sharing more about Tibetan Buddhism and its integration with the Enneagram and other TrueSelf systems of understanding yourself and the world as the TrueSelf journey unfolds.

In this workshop participants will explore:

  1. the habitual ways we breathe that are obstructive and unconscious, how they impact the mind and emotions, and how to correct them.
  2. the fundamental style of vase breathing that is core to Yantra, which supports harmonious and complete inhalation from below and exhalation from above.
  3. the seven points of the cross legged seated posture that supports yogic and meditation practices of all kinds.
  4. the opening pranayama Exhaling the Stale Air, which helps clear the energy system before any practice.
  5. the difference between core styles of direct and indirect breathing, and why we utilize one over the other.
  6. we will also teach the first movement of both the Loosening the Joints series, and the Purifying the Prana series as a sampling of the movements we will be learning in the full three month program that follows (details below).

Participants will leave with an understanding of the principles of Yantra Yoga and a short exercise for exhaling the stale air that can be useful before engaging in any practice and in daily life.
