Dear Quality Nominee,

At this time in the spring term we know you are working hard and that your teams are focused on assessments, exams, and standards verification. So, we wanted to keep this month’s newsletter focused on just three important areas of support for you.

We are back and we are Live!

We are delighted to offer our face-to-face networking events again this summer. These events are designed for UK centres delivering BTEC Entry/Level 1 to Level 3 and the BTEC Tech Awards from 2022.

We have 33 in-person dates available where you can meet with colleagues from a range of other centres, share best practice and discuss quality assurance themes for the coming year.

The focus points for the networking events will be as follows:

Dates and venues are listed below by UK region, but please feel free to book for a location / date that is most suitable for you.

UK Region: North West and Northern Ireland

 UK Region: North East, Yorkshire and Humber  

 UK Region: East Midlands and Anglia

 UK Region: West Midlands and Wales

 UK Region:  London and South East 

 UK Region:  South West 

Please note, bookings are to be made by Quality Nominees. Additional bookings for other staff members in your centre will be moved to a waiting list.  
For those unable to attend in person, we will be following up these face-to-face opportunities with online events in late June. However, there will be no opportunity for networking and reduced content shared.

The pandemic caused challenging times with regards to internal assessment and centres have been telling us they would benefit from a ‘back to basics’ approach to their roles and responsibilities, and BTEC assessment rules.

We are delighted to share our new on-demand CPD offer which is available on our Quality Assurance Events & Support webpage, applicable to BTEC Entry Level/Level 1 Introductory through to Level 3 qualifications.

Each package includes a short video, an activity to consolidate understanding, the answers, and a PDF copy of the video presentation.

We are excited to announce that the BTEC Higher Nationals Annual Student Survey for 2024 is now open! 

Student engagement is a crucial factor in improving retention rates, lowering drop-out rates, and achieving better academic outcomes. By participating in the survey, students can contribute to the Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF) and help improve the quality of education in the UK.

Students will also have the chance to win one of two £100 Amazon vouchers once they have completed the survey. This is a fantastic opportunity for students to voice their opinions, so let’s work together and help shape the future of higher education!
