Dr. Leigh Chapman, the chief nursing officer of Canada, visited St. Joseph’s Health Centre’s Emergency Department (ED). Led by Natalie Madramootoo, patient care manager, Chapman toured the ED, thanked the team for their work, and recognized the contributions of women in health care for International Women’s Day.

Dr. Anna Banerji, human rights advocate and pediatrician at St. Joseph’s, was selected as a top 25 woman of influence by Women of Influence+. In addition to her clinical work, Banerji is a pioneer in refugee health having founded the North American Refugee Health Conference, and is a strong ally for Indigenous Peoples who’s been working with Indigenous communities for almost 30 years. Congratulations, Dr. Banerji!
