And despite heavy rains and flooding in Sydney, climate change deniers have been out in full force, attacking Australian climate policies.
Tracking Australian-Specific Narratives Across Alt-Social
The Top Narratives on Alt-Social Media Last Week

The broad themes that Pyrra's AI found to be especially prominent last week.

Hateful rhetoric remains a staple of alt-social this week – although no specific event or trigger has prompted these sorts of posts, anti-immigrant, anti-LGBTQ, anti-vax, anti-communist and racist messages again pervades the unmoderated corners of social media this week. These types of sentiments are not unique to this week but is meant to serve as a representative survey of the hate speech that is witnessed on these sites at any given time.

Australian’s death in IDF attack prompts antisemitic response

>463914947 lol the jewish thirst for white blood is becoming harder to conceal. Hamas really did the world a favor on 10/7 and i don't just mean by killing a bunch of jews>>463915349 probably getting mossad training for the next time they need an incident to occur in Australia

The death of an Australian aid worker following an IDF airstrike in Gaza has led many to question Australia’s support for Israel’s war against Hamas, with some advocating suspension of further monetary support for the nation. Some on alt-social have used the deaths to promote blatantly anti-semitic views, with some expressing support for Hamas’ October 7th terrorist actions and pushing for retaliatory military action against Israel. Much of this hateful and violent commentary is couched in well-worn anti-semitic tropes and the calls for a disproportionate use of force suggests such sentiments are not being driven by the death of an Australian national but rather by a hatred of Jews and the Jewish state.

Islamophobic sentiments remain prominent on alt-social

>>195636708 >put myself in their position, if a thousand of my people were murdered and raped by subhuman mudslimes I would want the aussie military to carpet bomb them desu, I don't blame israelI don't get why people don't get this. We had separatists doing terror attacks in südtirol and if they ever did something like hamas did I would support their complete destruction without caring about dead kids

As a corollary to the above anti-semitic sentiments on alt-social this week, certain commentators on alt-social have used the death of the Australian aid worker in Gaza to express Islamophobic sentiment. Often portraying Muslims as “subhuman”, the rhetoric espoused by this faction generally calls for a genocide of Palestinians in particular, and Muslims more broadly, is language typically used to incite such atrocities in ethnic cleansing episodes throughout history. Interestingly, while some of these commentators clearly harbour Islamophobic views, their sentiment towards Jews and Israel is typically lukewarm at best and outright hostile at worst, suggesting no discernable allyship for the Jewish state or its people.

2 jet controversy has alt-social ridiculing Albanese’s solar plan, leadership

this is pure bull shit as they just dont give a stuff about wasting our taxes this is to Albo's $1 BILLION give away in the Hunter Valley solar play thing "Just more pathetic waste & hypocrisy from the #DudPM Albanese & #BlackoutBowen flying in separate jets from Canberra to the same event. It’s time to end this useless bunch of Labor hacks living like celebrities & trashing our country."

News of the government’s decision to charter two jets from Canberra for a clean energy announcement was met with ridicule on both mainstream and alt-social media. While the government contended that such an arrangement was the only practical logistical solution, many commentators on alt-social relished the opportunity to assail PM Albanese for the decision and ridiculed the seeming hypocrisy of the government’s climate actions. Others noted that even with the terrible optics of the situation, they were concerned that the $1 billion solar effort would allow the importation of cheap Chinese photovoltaics and crowd out Australian products.

Climate change deniers fume as heavy rains, floods rage

They can’t even predict the weather for tomorrow, and we all know the Climate Change is just a fear mongering tactics. What’s the Australia government’s solution? I bet more TAX will fix the weather 😆

Heavy rains and flooding in Sydney has prompted evacuation orders and fears of a dam overflow this week. Climate change deniers, however, have taken to alt-social this week to spread misinformation and criticize the government’s actions to curb greenhouse gases. These commentators generally take the view that climate change is a conspiracy concocted by Globalist elites to tax and control the consumption of fossil fuels. While the number of climate change deniers in Australia is generally small compared countries like the United States, this vocal minority positions its criticism of the climate change as a critique of the Australian government, and specifically its efforts to internalise the social costs of pollution through taxation.

Anti-immigrant, racist, anti-LGBTQ and anti-vax sentiments remain prominent themes on alt-social

>>Sometimes I wish I was a Sudanese Australian. I mean think about it logically. You could be the most braindead ugly motherfucker and women would line up to get culturally enriched by you. And you know the best thing? You'll spend like 2 months in a prison that is a hotel compared to the mud floor hut you were born in. And when you get out you can go back to raping blond hair blue eyed pussy that is beyond the reach of even the manliest Aussie surfers. God I wish I was a nigger.

The truth is that the Aussie Government Needs to take charge & forcibly remove many troubled indigenous kids at a young age Put them in foster care or adopt them out with new middle class families To give these poor kids a chance to break the cycle of poverty / crime & have a decent life Except we already did that & still being guilt tripped over it today
