Dear Colleague,

As you will know, good password management is essential to maintaining the security of systems and safeguarding important centre and learner data. To enhance security, we have revised our Edexcel Online password policy and towards the end of this week, we will require all Pearson Portal users to re-set their password.

All users logging in for the first time after this time will be automatically redirected to reset their password.
If you have reset your password since 3 March 2024 or your account was created after 3 March, you will not be required to reset your password as you will already be meeting our updated password requirements. Should you have any concerns over the security of your account we would always advise resetting your password at the earliest opportunity.
You do not need to log into the system just to change your password, but the next time you do log in you will be prompted to set a new password.

You will be presented with the following screen:

Changing your password will also update it for all other Pearson systems that are accessed via the Pearson Portal including Learner Work Transfer, ResultsPlus and Exam Wizard. A full list of these systems can be found in our Pearson Portal Authenticator article.

Although not accessed via the Pearson portal, the Pearson Progress platform is also subject to a password reset. This system is currently used to complete the Annual Quality Declaration (all centres) and access the VQ Learner Tracker (UK centres only), track approval applications (international centres only) and for the assessment of learner’s work (international centres only). Learners with Pearson Progress accounts are not expected to reset their passwords.

The enhanced mandatory password requirements that have come into effect and can be found in this article Edexcel Online: resetting your password.
If you have any questions or if you would like to speak to us directly, you can get in touch with any questions via our Pearson support portal.

With best wishes,
