Dear Delbert,
General Assembly (GA) offers so many ways to deepen our experience of Unitarian Universalism—whether through connection with each other and our wider community in worship, discussion and decision making about business items up for a vote, or engagement with leaders and speakers in workshops. This year's online GA, beginning Thursday, June 20 and going through Sunday, June 23, will have all of this and more.
We will take a historic vote on whether to change Article II of the UUA's Bylaws this year. Article II is that section of the Bylaws that currently describes the UUA's Principles and Purposes, as well as statements on Inclusion and Freedom of Belief. After years of input and deliberation from individual UUs across our Association, a proposed revision to Article II has been drafted and requires a final vote. We are deeply grateful to all who have participated in good faith in this period of significant theological discernment and to all who will take part in our democratic decision making process.
GA also includes opportunities to experience powerful speakers, including rabbi, scholar, and spiritual teacher, Julia Watts Belser who will give the Ware Lecture; the Rev. Jacqueline Brett who will lead the Service of the Living Tradition; and the Rev. Molly Housh Gordon who will lead Sunday Morning Worship. Some on-demand workshops are already available for registrants and live workshops during GA will allow for meaningful real-time engagement.

GA is different this year in a few ways, all of which were choices to make the event more accessible and environmentally sustainable. In addition to being all online, GA is one day shorter, beginning on Thursday, June 20 at 10:30am ET / 7:30am PT, some content is already available on-demand, and there will be affinity groups online during GA to help participants build connections.
