The Arizona Department of Education (ADE) Health and Nutrition Services (HNS) in collaboration with the Arizona Department of Economic Security (DES) has released the 2024 SUN Bucks Household Application.
What does this mean?
The 2024 SUN Bucks Household Application allows students enrolled for at least one instructional school day between July 1, 2023 - June 30, 2024, who were not previously certified as free or reduced-price eligible, to apply for the 2024 SUN Bucks benefit.
School Food Authorities (SFAs) must make this application available to households that believe they are eligible for the SUN Bucks benefit but were not identified as eligible by the SFA. This includes students who attended a school participating in a Special Provision Option who were not directly certified nor qualified for Income 1 or 2 Indicators but believe they may be eligible. These households may complete and submit the 2024 SUN Bucks Application to ADE by July 31, 2024. ADE will process the application and notify the household of eligibility.
