Dear Colleague,

During the summer 2024 results period, we want to ensure that you can login to Pearson systems, such as Edexcel Online or ResultsPlus, to support learners with their results as efficiently as possible. We recognise that in some cases, learner results days may be the first time you have needed to login since we introduced app based Multi-factor authentication (MFA) and you may be presented with these new requirements for the first time.

It may also be the case that you have successfully logged on and authenticated previously, but you have upgraded your device or lost the registered device. In these instances, you will need to ask us to reset your MFA account for you to register your new device, and this requires us to complete a secure callback via the telephone number we have on our system for your centre.

We understand that this can present logistical issues during the summer holidays if you are not at your centre or aren’t available when that secure callback takes place. To overcome this, we have set up an optional process which will allow us to verify your identity using an alternative number provided by you.

If you think you may need to register a new device during the holidays, requiring us to reset your MFA account, you can login to your Edexcel Online account now and provide us with the desired mobile telephone number. If there are then any issues that require us to complete a secure callback, we can do so on the number you have entered. Alternatively, you can call us from the number entered and we can verify your identity by checking this against your account during the call, removing the need for a secure callback.

To update your account please go to Edexcel Online > My account> Enter telephone number in mobile number field> Submit
What do I do next?

If you do wish to add your number to your account, you can do so at your own convenience using the steps listed above, and we will not chase you to do this.

On 3 March this year we introduced strengthened password requirements to our systems, and reset the password for all users. If you haven’t accessed our systems since 3 March and you do require access to our systems during the results period, we would encourage you to access these now, registering your device and ensuring you have the correct app installed. Doing so now will mean we can complete our secure callback requirements without the need for you to share your personal contact information with us.

If you are authenticating for the first time, additional support can be found in our Logging in and Accessing Pearson Services using the Pearson Portal support article or viewing our Pearson Portal Authenticator FAQs.

If you require any additional support, please contact us via the Pearson support portal.

Kind regards,
