FAMLI Celebrates Six Months

More than 62,000 Colorado workers have been able to get partial pay replacement when life events forced them to step away from their job this year under the State’s new Family and Medical Leave Insurance (FAMLI) program.
As of July 1, 2024, the FAMLI Division distributed more than $311 million this year to Colorado workers who filed claims under the law setting up the State’s first insurance product for partial pay replacement when serious life events force employees to temporarily step away from the job.
You can read more about how FAMLI is serving Colorado workers on the FAMLI website or join us July 23 at 11 a.m. for our next live webinar. We plan to highlight the number of Coloradans we have served in the first six months of the program. The remaining time will be reserved for attendees to ask the Division leaders questions.

Tips for Using Intermittent Leave

Serious health conditions aren’t always predictable.
That’s why Colorado’s FAMLI program allows workers to take intermittent leave, meaning they can’t plan or predict when they need to step away from the job.
Unplanned absences can be tough to manage, though. That makes communication between workers, their employers and the FAMLI Division a crucial element of any intermittent leave claim.
We laid out five tips to help employees on intermittent leave keep their employers in the loop as they navigate this new benefit. Review the five tips and remember: always communicate with your employer when you take intermittent leave and then report your leave hours to FAMLI each week.
