Welcome!
Dear Parents and Families,

We are excited to welcome both new and returning students to another enriching academic year at Wilson College. We understand that this can be a time of mixed emotions—pride, excitement, and perhaps a bit of apprehension—as your young adults embark on, or continue, their college journeys. At Wilson, we want to reassure you of our commitment to providing a supportive and stimulating environment that fosters both academic excellence and personal growth.

What to Expect This Semester

Academic Excellence: Our dedicated faculty and staff are eager to engage with your students, offering an array of courses designed to challenge and inspire. Whether your student is diving into their major or exploring new fields of interest, they will find a wealth of resources and support to help them succeed.

Campus Life: Beyond the classroom, our vibrant campus life offers numerous opportunities for students to get involved, make new friends, and create lasting memories. From clubs and organizations to sporting events and cultural activities, there is something for everyone. Please encourage your student to get involved!

Health and Wellness: We prioritize the well-being of our students. Our comprehensive health and wellness programs are available to support your student’s physical and mental health throughout the year.

Staying Connected

We believe that strong communication between the college and families is crucial for student success. Here are a few ways to stay informed and engaged:

Parent and Family Page: Access important updates, campus news, and resources tailored for families.

Social Media: Follow us on social media for real-time updates and a glimpse into daily campus life.

Supporting Your Student

Your encouragement and support play a vital role in your student’s college experience. Here are a few tips to help your student thrive:

Encourage Independence: College is a time for students to develop self-reliance. Encourage them to take advantage of campus resources and to advocate for themselves.

Maintain Open Communication: Keep the lines of communication open. Listen to your student’s experiences or challenges and offer guidance when needed.

Stay Informed: Familiarize yourself with key dates and deadlines, such as registration periods, exams, and holidays.

Most importantly, don’t forget to join us for Wilson Weekend (October 18-20), our annual family celebration chock full of games, athletic events, barn activities, food trucks, BBQ & Brew, and spooky evening entertainment! In late September, more information and RSVP form is available here.

Looking Ahead
As we begin this new academic year filled with optimism and excitement, we look forward to the opportunities that lie ahead. We feel honored to partner with you in supporting your student’s journey and look forward to a successful and rewarding semester.

Thank you for entrusting us with your student’s education. Together, we will make this fall semester a remarkable chapter in their college experience.

Warm regards,
Katherine Buck
VP for Student Development
