Off Grid Adventures

In the first part of the interview, we discussed the unique challenges of governing a district as diverse as ours, which includes a range of neighborhoods from Bel Air and Beverly Crest to Palms and Koreatown. We discussed the critical issue of homelessness, highlighting the work we’re doing to bring more interim housing to our district and the challenges we face due to limited resources. It’s a difficult balance, but we’re committed to addressing these issues head-on.

Westwood Pool Party
On Thursday evening, my office hosted an incredible Summer Pool Party at the Westwood Recreation Center! As we look ahead to the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles, I'm excited about the opportunities the Games will bring—not just to showcase our city to the world, but also to provide free or low-cost sports programs to kids across LA. Thank you to everyone who joined us!
Wilshire Crest Elementary
On Friday, I had the pleasure of visiting Wilshire Crest Elementary. It was a great opportunity to meet with parents, teachers, and staff, and hear directly about the excitement and challenges of the new school year. Although LAUSD is a separate entity from the City of Los Angeles, our lives and communities don’t always fit neatly into these jurisdictional boundaries. As your councilmember, I’m committed to ensuring that our students have a safe and supportive environment to learn and grow. Whether it's through making our streets safer for kids walking to school or creating vibrant, thriving neighborhoods, we're all working together to make sure every kid has the opportunity to succeed. I'm looking forward to visiting other schools in the District in the coming weeks!
The City Council is on recess until August 27, 2024. Check back soon for more updates!
