Dear Friend:

Here are the latest updates on the ongoing wildfire response and critical reminders to help keep our community safe. Please continue to stay prepared and monitor alerts as weather forecasts predict Santa Ana winds to increase this evening through early next week.
EVACUATION ORDERS AND WARNINGS
As of Sunday afternoon, a mandatory evacuation order remains in place for the Palisades Fire from Mandeville Canyon to the 405, and from the neighborhoods north of the Encino Reservoir south to Sunset Blvd. Evacuation warnings are in place from Encino Reservoir west to Vanalden Ave, East to the Saugus Ave / Roscomare Rd, and South to Anzio Road. More info can be found here.

In mandatory evacuation and evacuation warning areas connected to the Palisades Fire, hundreds of LAPD officers, supplemented with the National Guard, have been deployed for maintaining curfews and safety in these neighborhoods. My team and I spoke with LAPD and they made it clear that if your home is in an evacuation order zone, you are subject to curfew from 6PM to 6AM. This is for your safety and the safety of our communities. If you are under an evacuation warning, you may come and go but limit unnecessary travel. Residents in the mandatory evacuation areas should expect to be away from their homes for at least 72 hours.

BEWARE OF SCAMS
In the aftermath of recent fires, scammers are actively targeting vulnerable individuals and families, exploiting their distress. Here are important warnings to help you recognize and avoid some of the most common scams.
DRONES INTERFERE WITH FIREFIGHTERS
Did you know it is illegal to fly drones in a fire zone? "Everyone should know, … flying a drone in the fire traffic area is not only dangerous, but it's illegal," said Los Angeles County Fire Chief Anthony Maroney. LAFD and law enforcement have reported the use of unauthorized drones around the Palisades Fire area, hindering their ability to fight the blaze. One rogue drone has already damaged one of the water dropping airplane wings causing it to be grounded for a few days! Please encourage anyone to stop doing this. Seconds matter and we need to make sure our airways are clear for emergency aircrafts.

DONATIONS AND SUPPLIES
LAFD stations and evacuation sites are fully stocked with supplies and are not accepting additional donations at this time. For more info on how you can help or for donations, please click here.
